Cheesy Shells & Sausage

Cheesy shell pasta with sausage!

Ingredients

1 lb. smoked sausage, fully cooked
16 oz. pkg. shell pasta
18 oz. processed cheese food, cubed
¼ c. butter
½ c. milk
Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, slice smoked sausage into one inch sections and heat through in a large skillet or Dutch oven.
  3. Drain pasta and add to skillet with smoked sausage.
  4. Stir in butter, milk and cubed cheese.
  5. Continue to stir until butter and cheese are melted.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

You could add a can of veggies to this recipe and create a whole meal in one!

Hey everyone!  Welcome to 2016!  Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and prayers!  Although I’m currently still recovering from surgery, I am very excited to be back online and am looking forward to the coming year and sharing more delicious, time saving recipes with YOU! 
This week’s featured recipe is Stove Top Tuna Noodle Casserole!  This simple, hearty recipe goes together quickly and is delicious!  It’s sure to fit into your busy weeknight schedule!   I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how fast it goes together and how fast it disappears!  I’d love to hear from you, so please be sure to leave me your comments!  Until next time, have an awesome week!  Lisa

Stove Top Tuna Noodle Casserole

A meal all in one AND done!!

Ingredients

2 - 5 oz. cans tuna in water (undrained)
1 medium onion, diced
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 - 16 oz. can sweet peas
1 - 16 oz. pkg. wide egg noodles
2 – 10 oz. cans cream of mushroom soup
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp season salt
½ tsp black pepper
Shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare noodles as directed, drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, in a skillet or dutch oven, sauté onion in butter. When onion is opaque, stir together tuna, soup and spices.
  3. Then stir in noodles and sweet peas.
  4. Heat through and top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Smoked Sausage & Veggie Pasta

If you’re looking for a one skillet meal that’s not only filling, but delicious AND is fairly quick and easy to create and serve to your hungry family….  This is the recipe you’ve been looking for.  This yummy recipe is  a meal all in it’s self!  The combination of smoked sausage, yummy veggies and creamy, cheesy pasta is a delight to the taste buds!  And Bonus!!!! It won’t cost you a lot of precious time!  Put it together, serve it up to your hungry bunch and out the door with a few minutes to spare!  Enjoy!

Smoked Sausage & Veggie Pasta

Ingredients

1 lb. smoked sausage, halved & sliced
1 medium onion, diced
1 t minced garlic
4 oz. chopped fresh mushrooms
2 T butter
1 -16 oz. package frozen veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc.)
2 -14 oz. cans chicken broth or equivalent chicken base & water mixed
1 -16 oz. angel hair pasta
12 oz. fresh spinach
1/2 c cream or half & half
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 c Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, sauté smoked sausage, onion, garlic and mushrooms in butter.
  2. Add broth and veggies. Bring to a boil. Continue to cook until veggies are crisp tender.
  3. Add angel hair pasta to broth and cook to desired tenderness. Broth should be absorbed into the pasta when pasta is finished.
  4. Add cream and stir in spinach.
  5. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese.
