I’m telling you what, using frozen green beans in this recipe is a wonderful way to get the delightful taste of fresh green beans….Almost!…Fresh is always best, of course, but if you’re pinched for time, the frozen variety will work just fine! - In a large slow cooker, add the frozen green beans, then the onion and top with bacon. Pour one cup of the water over the top of the green bean layer.
- Add the envelope of onion soup mix to the remaining 2 cups water and stir to dissolve the soup base. Add the minced garlic to the onion soup mixture, and then pour evenly over the green bean layers.
- Sprinkle black pepper evenly over the top. Place lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
- Once cooking is complete, gently stir to combine the bacon pieces and onion into the green beans just before serving.
