Savory Salisbury Steaks

Ingredients
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 eggs
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
½ t .black pepper
¾ c. quick oats
2 T. canola oil
2 T. butter
8 oz. cremini mushrooms, sliced
¼ c. flour
2 c. beef broth
1 t. garlic & herb seasoning
Instructions
- For steaks:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk eggs until light. Add Worcestershire sauce and onion soup mix to eggs and combine well. Set aside and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Crumble ground beef over egg mixture and mix well.
- Add oats and mix by hand to incorporate well. Add canola oil to skillet and heat through. Add steaks to hot oil and cook, over medium heat, approximately 3-4 minutes per side, or until both sides are seared and juices run clear.
- Remove from skillet and cover to keep warm.
- For the gravy:
- In the same skillet, add the 2 tablespoons of butter and sliced mushrooms. Sauté mushrooms for 10-15 minutes until tender.
- Add the flour to mushrooms and stir together to make a paste and cook briefly to brown slightly. Stir in beef broth and garlic seasoning. Stir constantly until gravy is thickened. Add steaks to gravy and spoon gravy over steaks.
- Heat through and serve.
